ACT's INTEX AWARDS THE BEST OF THE BEST

Farmington Hills, MI… Architectural Contractors Trade Association (ACT) recently recognized three area contractors for their hard work and outstanding construction projects. Recipients of the prestigious INTEX Achievement Award includes: Pontiac Ceiling and Partition, Shock Brothers Floorcovering, Inc., and Commercial Interior Systems.

The INTEX Achievement Award is sponsored by the Architectural Contractors Industry Fund in conjunction with this years cosponsors: Brinker Team, Livonia Building Materials, Commercial Interior Systems, Saylor's, Inc., Ryan Building Materials, and Jasman Truss & Panel.

The Master of Ceremonies for the evening was Mr. Lee Thomas, news reporter and co-anchor for FOX2News who delighted the audience, of over 140 guests, at the sixth annual INTEX award ceremony on April 24, 2001 at the Novi Hilton.

"The INTEX Award ceremony is the premier event for ACT and we are proud of the momentum it has had over the last six years. The award gives the industry and the public the opportunity to see the result of quality workmanship and high standards in the architectural trades. It is also become a vehicle for recognition and pride for industry excellence," stated Bob Halik, Vice President of ACT, that evening.

Representatives from ACT's national association, Association of the Wall & Ceiling Industries (AWCI) attended the event and commented how great it is to see the support and wonderful projects the INTEX Award receives.

Established in 1995 to acknowledge outstanding achievement in Interior & Exterior construction projects, the INTEX Achievement Award is open to all union contractors. The ACT Promotion Committee and a panel of architects judge the projects. Criteria for the award include aesthetics, workmanship, difficulty of installation and scope of work. Over 30 projects were nominated this year.

Award-winning construction projects receiving the INTEX Achievement Award include:

  • Brightmoor Tabernacle in Novi, MI for the EIFS category, project completed by Pontiac Ceiling & Partition.
  • Detroit County Day Lower Addition in Bloomfield Hills, MI for the Resilient Floor category, project completed by Shock Brothers Floorcovering, Inc.
  • Dearborn Hyatt in Dearborn, MI for the Wall & Ceiling/Carpentry category, project completed by Commercial Interior Systems, Inc.
  • Architectural Contractors Trade Association, based in Farmington Hills, Michigan, is a local trade association who represents contractors and suppliers in SE Michigan in the areas of Acoustic Systems, Carpentry, Drywall Systems, Exterior Insulation Finish Systems, Flooring, Lathing, Plastering and Texturing.
